On Saturday, group leaders and activists representing most of the 250 plus groups from around Ohio attended a statewide meeting to discuss strategy and planning for the upcoming 2014 primary and general elections…..
The highlight of the meeting came when OLC president Ted Stevenot (left) announced that he had formed an investigation committee to run for Ohio Governor on the Republican ticket. He then introduced Brenda Mack (right), President of Ohio Black Republicans, who would be his running mate as Lt Gov. They anticipate the official announcement and filings later this week to formalize the run to put Stevenot and Mack on the primary ballot
The room arose to a 5 minute standing ovation at this announcement.
State leaders will be bringing this announcement and the meeting plans back to their groups where they will decide on their own course of action. This is the part that the parties cannot get their heads around. All these groups operate totally separate, with their own resources and decisions. The Ohio Liberty Coalition hosts these get togethers several times a year for groups to communicate and discuss their projects and plans.
The NW Ohio Conservative Coalition will be co hosting a NW Ohio meeting this Saturday in Findlay to bring this information back to NW Ohio groups.
